What we do

blue line

Our charity exists because the healthcare gaps are real and growing:

Local primary care is under immense pressure, making it increasingly difficult for people to secure timely GP appointments, advocate for themselves within a 10-minute consultation, or access further investigations. Too often, serious concerns are dismissed or delayed with devastating consequences. Throughout our years of operating, we have supported several families who were initially turned away, only to later receive critical diagnoses.

Beyond access, many of the patients we work with face cultural barriers, financial constraints, and the overwhelming reality of navigating complex medical information at an emotional time. People need someone who understands their world, speaks their language – both medically and culturally – and can stand beside them when it matters most.

We therefore deliver rapid support through four core pillars:

Practical Care, Family Support & Respite

A cancer diagnosis affects the whole family, especially where young children are involved. We provide personalised, hands-on support tailored to each family’s needs, from arranging cleaning and childcare to offering practical help during the most intensive stages of treatment.

We always ensure our families are cared for in meaningful ways, such as delivering meals during chemotherapy or after surgery, and offering thoughtful gestures like pre-surgery care packages to ease particularly anxious moments. We also create opportunities for connection - bringing patients together through shared experiences, whether via small group activities such as art workshops or coordinating respite breaks - helping them feel understood, supported, and less alone.

Community Education & Awareness

Early detection can save lives, yet access to trusted, culturally relevant information remains a barrier within our community. We bring people together through large-scale awareness evenings, often attracting hundreds of attendees. These events create space for open conversation, reduce stigma, and empower individuals to recognise symptoms and seek help sooner.

We also host dedicated education sessions for GPs, bringing leading consultants directly into dialogue with primary care professionals. By strengthening understanding and relationships between primary and secondary care, we help close critical gaps - improving early identification, speeding up referrals, and ultimately saving lives.

These events not only educate our community to identify symptoms, understand diagnosis and how to access local healthcare services, but also demonstrates the need for knowledge that’s delivered in a clear, culturally sensitive way.

Medical Advice & Guidance

When someone is worried about their health or facing a diagnosis, clarity and support can make all the difference. Our expert team can provide consistent, compassionate medical guidance from the very first concern, helping individuals navigate uncertainty, understand their options, and feel in control during an overwhelming time.

Once a patient enters the healthcare system, we remain actively involved - attending consultations where needed, explaining complex medical language, and empowering patients to advocate for themselves. Our strong relationships with both NHS and private providers allow us to actively liaise on behalf of patients - particularly where delays, waiting lists, or second opinions are involved. As demand grows, we are expanding this support further, including dedicated patient advocates who can accompany individuals to critical appointments and ensure they are fully supported throughout.

Where appropriate, we also facilitate access to additional therapies - such as physiotherapy or complementary treatments - when they can meaningfully improve recovery or quality of life.

Urgent Diagnosis & Treatment Support

Early detection is one of the most decisive factors in cancer outcomes, yet too many people face critical delays within overstretched NHS pathways at the point where time matters most. We intervene at this exact moment - working alongside, not instead of, the NHS - to enable rapid access to essential diagnostics including MRIs, ultrasounds, biopsies and blood tests. In many cases, we arrange testing within 24-48 hours of a patient first raising concerns, dramatically shortening what can otherwise be weeks or months of waiting, while ensuring results are shared back into NHS systems for continuity of care.

For patients, the period between noticing symptoms and receiving answers is often the most distressing. Pressures on primary care and long waiting lists can leave people in limbo, unsure where to turn. We remove these barriers by funding private diagnostics and consultations for those most in need, providing rapid reassurance for many while easing demand on NHS services.

Rachel's story

blue line

Nearly two years ago, Rachel was diagnosed with a brain stem tumour, a life-changing diagnosis that deeply impacted both her and her four children. Over the past two years, she has undergone three brain surgeries – one to remove the tumour and two further procedures to manage complications, including the insertion of a shunt after developing hydrocephalus.

Since then, Rachel has faced a long and difficult rehabilitation journey, with ongoing medical challenges affecting many aspects of daily life.

Lev Chaim has been an absolute tower of strength and support for my children and me. The type of support that is delivered with thoughtfulness, dignity and understanding. Each and every gift, get-together and reaching-out becomes the highlight of a week packed with hospital appointments and never-ending referrals.

Thank you to Lev Chaim for bringing happiness and hope - and the strength to cope with another day - to my daughters and me.
